Fea is a Social Worker, Counsellor, and Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioner with more than ten years of experience supporting adults and families across hospital, health, disability, and community settings. Her work combines clinical expertise with compassion, providing evidence-informed support that recognises the whole person rather than focusing solely on behaviours of concern.
Throughout her career, Fea has supported individuals experiencing mental health challenges, psychosocial disability, acquired brain injury, intellectual disability, dementia, neurodivergence, and complex support needs. She has worked alongside participants, families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams navigating significant life challenges and understands that meaningful, lasting change is achieved through strong relationships and collaborative practice.
Fea has a particular interest in supporting adults aged 18 years and over, including older adults, to maintain dignity, autonomy, meaningful relationships, and quality of life throughout every stage of adulthood.
Fea's practice is grounded in the belief that people do well when they can. She recognises that behaviour is a form of communication and that behaviours of concern are often influenced by a person's experiences, health, environment, relationships, communication, and unmet needs. Rather than viewing behaviour as something to be managed, she seeks to understand what it is communicating and how the person's quality of life can be improved.
Her work is person-centred, trauma-informed, strengths-based, and neuroaffirming. She believes that sustainable outcomes are achieved when individuals feel safe, respected, and actively involved in decisions about their own lives. By focusing on the broader factors influencing wellbeing, Fea supports participants to build greater independence, emotional wellbeing, and meaningful participation within their communities.
Drawing on her backgrounds in Social Work, Counselling, and Positive Behaviour Support, Fea works collaboratively with participants, families, carers, support workers, and multidisciplinary professionals to develop practical, evidence-based strategies that promote positive outcomes and reduce the need for restrictive practices.
