Amanda is a Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioner who provides compassionate, evidence-informed Positive Behaviour Support to individuals experiencing challenges communicating their needs, emotions, or experiences.

Amanda’s practice is grounded in a person-centred and neurodiversity-affirming approach, recognising that behaviour is a form of communication and that each person’s journey, strengths, and lived experiences are unique. She works collaboratively with individuals, families, and support teams to build environments that prioritise trust, safety, connection, and meaningful engagement.

Amanda brings a trauma-informed lens to her work, understanding that behaviour often reflects past experiences and unmet needs rather than problems to be “fixed.” Her approach focuses on identifying the underlying functions of behaviour and developing respectful strategies that support emotional regulation, functional communication, and improved quality of life.

Her practice integrates evidence-based behavioural frameworks with genuine empathy and lived understanding, ensuring that supports are both clinically sound and deeply respectful of the individual. Amanda places strong emphasis on early intervention, functional communication development, and building the capacity of families and support teams to create sustainable and supportive environments.

Amanda’s work reflects a commitment to:

  • Neurodiversity-affirming practice
  • Trauma-informed support
  • Person-centred planning
  • Evidence-based behavioural strategies
  • Deep empathy and non-judgement

Through collaborative partnership with individuals and their support networks, Amanda aims to ensure that every person she supports feels seen, heard, respected, and empowered to participate meaningfully in their community.
